Basic B

Some days ya just gotta be "basic." With a company like Brandy Melville, known for their affordable and comfortable basic pieces, these kind of days run a lot smoother. I acquired this white, heavy-weight cotton, baby doll dress in early summer. So far its been a great basic piece, offering endless ways to dress it up or down. I even own it in black! With my recent move to NYC it's been an ideal garment for my new, "on the go" life style, getting me from A to B while still looking like I put in some effort.

OshKosh

It feels as if I've been on "the hunt" for the perfect pair of overalls all summer. However, I am always up for a challenge, so when I found this pair of OshKosh ankle length overalls in my mother's closet I knew a DIY was in order. After one bucket of bleach and a quick trim- I finally had the overalls of my dreams for the price of FREE! I can't wait to transition these into my fall wardrobe and pair them with pastel chunky knit sweaters and some mules.

So this past year I've been telling myself it's time to stop shopping at forever 21 and start investing a little more in my wardrobe. However sometimes I just can't resist a fast fashion fix. Which is how I happened to stumble-upon this little on trend tie dye number. Styled for a night out with my glass pendant, simple sandals, ASOS sunnies, and a black envelope clutch.

Sheer Botanicals

Like I've said before I am all about any chance I can get to wear my high wasted denim shorts! Which pair perfectly with one of my summer favorites, a sheer floral print kimono I got from the juniors section in Marshalls a while back. Easily paired with a black fitted crop top, my snake and tan Sam Edleman sandals, and a gold horn pendant....and simple dressing takes the cake again. I should probably start pushing myself to get more creative with my wardrobe again , but with a recent lack of time lately I've been leaning towards my easily paired pieces.

There are two things that are always ideal with clothing items for me, one that they are black and two that they are cotton. Comfort and versatility makes for effortless dressing and I'm all down for an outfit that looks just as good as it feels. So here's to you cotton and my favorite color that will never really be a  color.

Summer Denim

Wearing | Dress: H&M  ShoesBCBG (similar here), Necklace: Light Years, Jacket: Iris Los Angeles
A denim jacket is the perfect summer staple, the best part being that you can take it straight into chilly fall days with out looking out of place. Its such a versatile piece which can easily be dressed up or down and adds an instant relaxed edge to more feminine outfits. Which, if your like me and have a bit of a tomboy side, its the perfect way to wear more feminine looks and still feel one-hundred percent you! I found this great body-con midi dress at h&m the other week, which happened to perfectly couple with my Iris Los Angeles denim jacket. Allowing a more causal vibe for a statement dress I may have normally stayed away from. Paired with my go to summer sandals, my favorite wool felt halt, and a glass triangular pendant I was feeling confident and ready for a night out.

Sometimes there is nothing better than casual simplicity within an outfit. Not only is it easy but it's diverse and gives off a very effortless and put-together look. I wait around all year long for Summer just for the mere reason I can pull back out my go to high wasted denim shorts, there's something just so easy about denim. On this particular day I whipped out my white Asos button down, my nude BCBG sandals, and a simple gold horn pendant to create the perfect simple summer look.

#babesindesigner

So I've decided on skipping any kind of Resort 2015 review and taking it straight to the men (boys)! Besides, looking at male models is more fun anyways. Menswear SS 2015 has begun (in London at-least). London fashion always possesses a fun and modern flair. This seasons collections appear to be merging futuristic aspects and 70's inspired prints with a chill streetwear vibe. Below I've picked some of my favorite collections thus far; have a look and let me know in the comments some of your favorites. Now excuse me while I go repeatedly browse through these collections over on Style.com as I "patiently" wait around for the Givenchy SS 2015 Menswear show. #babesindesinger

Floral Ambition

I should probably stop shopping in the junior department and start investing in some higher end pieces, but I just can't seem to bring my self to. I've been on the market for a romper that would fit my body type and make me feel confident for quite some time now. So when I found this one in Marshalls with a sixteen dollar price tag, I knew we would be leaving together. On this particular day I went for a look that was a bit more feminine than I would normally go for by combining my gold chain choker, black wool-felt hat, and the perfect summer sandals. However after some styling experimentation I discovered this new piece will also pair well with my leather jacket, and some black slingbacks for a more edgy approach. That's the best thing about personal style though, with a little bit of brainstorming you can make your wardrobe far more versatile than you could ever possibly imagine.

West Coast Dose

I've been yearning for something leopard print to add to my wardrobe, so when I stumbled upon this MINKPINK skirt on 6pm for only twenty five bucks I was sold! There are so many different ways I can style it, for instance add a white oversize button down and a pair of black leather ankle booties and you have a sleek pulled together look(with a touch of edge). However on this particular day I was really looking to channel my inner West Coast persona and wild child. A sweet vintage inspired tank, a pair of brown sandals, my wool felt hat, and I was ready to be dropped off somewhere in the streets of LA.

90s Take Back

All hail the return of the slip dress! I got this baby in the mail last week from Shop Wasteland. Its minimalist qualities make the styling possibilities ENDLESS...and I'm not complaining. So I jumped at the chance to finally pair a dress with my snake print slip-ons and a moto jacket for a slick touch. I can not wait to explore the possibilities of this bad boy girl.
